School Values
At St Edward’s school we focus on the holistic development of our children. As well as succeeding academically, we want our children to develop their spiritual, moral, social and cultural values by reflecting on their own beliefs.
Rooted in the teaching of Christ, the Gospel Values constitute the targets and outcomes of the educational enterprise in our school. For this to be possible the Gospel Values need to be specifically named, their meaning unpacked and pupils helped to understand how they relate to their lives at school, at home and in society.
St Edward’s has chosen the following eight Gospel Values which the children will focus on throughout their time in school.
- Truth
- Respect
- Service
- Forgiveness
- Humility
- Dignity
- Tolerance
- Faithfulness
Children will have opportunities to earn a book mark when they have demonstrated one or more of the Gospel Values. The aim is that by the time children leave school at the end of Year 6 they will have earned all eight book marks.
