  • Aspirations Week

    Children celebrated Aspirations Week by taking part in assemblies throughout the week delivered by people from different professions who spoke about how they aspired to work in their roles after many years of hard work and study as well as learning the skills of perseverance and resilience. Children finished the week on Friday with a dress up day where they wore clothes or costumes of jobs they wish to do when they are older.

  • Oompa Loompa Day 2020

    As Year 6 pupils head towards the end of their unit on Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory it was time for them once again to engage in the annual Oompa Loompa day. The pupils all looked fantastic as they swarmed onto the playground complete with green hair, orange faces and white eyebrows. Many of the children opted to create their own costume from scratch as well which was very impressive to see. During the morning's extended English focus the children analysed the different texts and movies portrayals of the Oompa Loompas and examined what was similar or different.

  • Science Selfie 2020

    After the amazing participation and excitement during the 2019 Science Selfie competition our science coordinator just couldn't resist the urge to hold the competition again this year. Once again we were amazed and intrigued by over 40 children's entries. Science carried out at home varied from trips to places of scientific interest, home-made snow, jellied eggs, gas inflating balloons and exploding volcanoes. There was a huge variety of projects sent in, and truly they were all lovely.

  • Remembrance Day

    The Student Council representatives from across the school joined other schools from our diocese around the War Memorial in Central Park on Monday to mark the 100th anniversary of the two minute silence and to join in with paying their respects to all those who were so brave during the war. Children read out readings and poems and listened to the Last Post. It was of course a sombre occasion, but one that is no less important 100 years on from when it started.

  • Year 6 visit to FairPlay House - 21st November to the 25th November

    Fairplay Outdoor Education Centre provides a wide range of outdoor experiences for Primary Schools. Staff at Fairplay worked directly with St Edward’s to design a bespoke programme that met the needs of our pupils, as well as the Geography, PSE and PE curriculum. St Edward’s individual programme include a a water sport activity, high adventure, team building and environmental sessions. All of our sessions were designed with a focus on our three core values, RESILIENCE, TEAMWORK and INDEPENDENCE.
